Now we find out that Monsanto and GMA cheated even more than we knew!!!

According to Attorney General Ferguson’s motion  from Washington state…

“GMA’s conduct was so egregious that it ranks amongst the worst in state history. GMA worked to ‘shield’ the actions of major food companies from the very public entitled to know who was trying to influence their vote on Initiative 522.

This type of blatant disregard for state disclosure laws and the transparency demanded by the people of Washington deserves the Court’s closest scrutiny. GMA’s significant wrongdoing deserves an equally significant response by this Court …

Applying even one of the statutory remedies, the Court should award — at a minimum — a penalty equal to the over $14 million GMA concealed from the public.”

Not if Pepsico, Coke and Nestle, along with the rest of the supporters of the GMA (Grocery Manufacturers Association) can sway public opinion in Washington State on the 5th of November.
“Pepsico, Coca-Cola and NestleUSA have each put up more than $1 million to defeat Washington’s Initiative 522 money the food industry giants channeled through a “Defense of Brands Strategic Account,” set up by the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) so companies would leave no footprints..”
In yielding to a lawsuit brought by the Attorney General of Washington State Bob Ferguson, GMA agreed to list donors to what has become a $17.1 million campaign to defeat I-522.

The food industrial giants gave individually to Proposition 37 in California last year, contributing to a $46 million war chest that narrowly turned back the labeling measure.

So we have to ask ourselves why these large companies don’t want us to know what is in our food!!!
